Händel in London

When Händel arrived at London 1710, he was not the first one, who aimed to make London the most important musical place in Europe, nevertheless his operas are the climax in the accidental world at this time. Between 1711 and 1738 he composed more than 40 operas and made great effort to settle the Italian opera in England.

Händels Concerti grossi op.6 were first published 1739 in London. They have been mainly performed between his oratorios.

The Other Seasons

This program is a funny alternative to the classical Vivaldi's Four Seasons programs. It includes other concerts and vocal pieces by Vivaldi related to the Nature, to its sounds and its powerful events. Every piece explores birds songs, tempests, the life in the fields, the hunting spirit of the Fall, etc. In addition, the program starts with the interesting aria "Gelido in ogni vena" (the story of a father which sees the ghost of his son, describing the feeling of his blood freezing in veins). Vivaldi composed this scaring and unique aria using the same themes of the first movement of Winter concerto.
